The family first entered the construction business in the early 1900s, using horses to deliver materials to some of the most forward-looking development projects of the day – highways, locks and dams, bridges, and later, strategic airfields across the United States. Many of these projects are still operating today. In the early 1970’s, building on the company’s experience, ideals and construction expertise, the Nolan group developed an extensive portfolio of self-storage, multi-family and specialty retail properties. Through our commitment to quality, discipline, and effective management, the self-storage portfolio grew into one of the largest privately held self-storage companies in the United States.
